Kadera keeps everything on your device. There is no account to create and no server to sign in to, and the app contains no analytics or advertising code. Nothing you put into it is uploaded, which means we (the developer) have no way of seeing your reminders, notes, attachments or statistics.
Kadera stores your reminders, to-dos, nudges, templates, notes, attachments, completion history and statistics in a database inside the app's own container on your device. The widget and the share extension use that same database through a shared app group, which is how all three stay in step.
Your settings (theme, accent, vacation mode, digest cadence and so on) live in the same place.
None of it is uploaded. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, Apple's backup of your device may include the app's data along with the app itself. That backup belongs to Apple and is covered by Apple's terms. Kadera does not run it and cannot read what is in it.
Kadera asks for permission to send notifications so that a reminder can reach you. You can say no. The app carries on working, and the Home Screen widget still shows what is due.
Your device schedules the notifications itself. There is no push server, and no reminder text leaves the device in order to be delivered.
You can change or revoke the permission whenever you like, in iOS Settings → Notifications → Kadera.
If you use calendar import, Kadera asks for calendar permission so that it can show your events and let you turn one into a reminder. Kadera only ever reads from your calendars. It does not create, edit or delete anything in them.
Importing an event makes a copy of it inside Kadera. The copy stays on your device, and it is not kept in sync with the calendar afterwards.
This permission is optional too, and the rest of the app works without it. To revoke it, go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
Attachments you add, files shared into Kadera from another app and .ics calendar files you open all get copied into the app's own storage on your device. None of them are uploaded.
When you export a backup, or pick a folder for automatic backups, iOS shows you its own file picker, and Kadera writes only to the destination you choose there. If that destination sits in iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or another file provider, the copy you put there is then handled by that service under its own privacy policy. Kadera itself has no access to the service.
Kadera collects nothing. There is no analytics in it, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier and no third-party framework that gathers data. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
If you write to support, we have whatever you chose to put in that email, and nothing else.
Your data stays until you delete it. Deleting a reminder takes its history with it, and Settings → Statistics can clear the statistics for selected reminders or for all of them at once.
Deleting the app removes its storage from the device, reminders, attachments and settings included. Backups you exported to a folder of your own are untouched by this; you delete those wherever you put them.
If Kadera ever cannot open its database, it sets the unreadable file aside instead of deleting it, and tells you where it went.
Kadera is a general-purpose reminder app. It collects nothing from anyone of any age, and it has no in-app purchases, advertising or user-to-user content.
If a future version of Kadera changes anything described here (by adding sync or diagnostics, for instance), this policy, the app's App Store privacy label and its privacy manifests are updated before that version is released. The date at the top of this page changes with them.
